Pilates

STOTT Pilates is a mind and body exercise built on the essence and principles of Joseph Pilates original method. This incorporated modern anatomically knowledge about the body and the input from sports medicine professionals to create an innovative and dynamic exercise regime.

Stoott Pilates was developed by former professional dancer Moira Merrithew and aims to create the optimal musculoskeletal performance by incorporating strength, flexibility and endurance - without risking injury.

Pilates focuses on building your body's core strength and improving your posture through a series of low repetition low impact stretching and conditioning exercises. With focus on core stability, neutral alignment and breathing, Stott Pilates can reduce your waist line, improve your posture and keep you looking younger. Strengthening your core abdominals and back, which supports the spine, reduces the risk of commonly incurred back problems.

By the term "core strength" we mean your back, abdominal and pelvic muscles. Through Pilates, you will be able to develop these muscles without adding bulk, increasing your flexibility and agility and at the same time toning your stomach and thigh muscles.

However, Pilates goes far beyond your core muscles and not only provides a complete body workout (you will be working muscles you didn't even know you had!), but also helps you develop an awareness of how your body works, helping your mind and body to work in harmony.

Whether you are new to exercise, recovering from injury or are an advanced athlete, Pilates gives you a musculoskeletal work out.
